Red Fox

Description:

Body length: 22"- 25", tail is 14"-16" (about the size of a small dog)
Weight: 7.5 lbs - 14.1 lbs
Color: Back is reddish-yellow with black-tipped ears and black feet. Belly is white. Tail is usually tipped with white.

Habitat: Edge of forests, open areas, marshes, and streams. They stay in underground dens when raising young; otherwise, they tend to rest on elevated areas.

Personality:

Active mostly at dawn and dusk, when its prey is most active. Nocturnal in the summer.
Can run for miles at a time from predators, as fast as 45 mph
Can carry rabies, mites, ticks, and fleas

Diet: Mostly small prey like mice and other small rodents, but may also eat plants.

Language: Very high-pitched barking and yelping.
