Description:
- Length: 6"- 7";
tail is 2.5"- 3.25"
- Color: Back is grayish-brown,
belly is white. Hair is short and soft.
- Eyes and ears are quite large.
- Tail is usually not as long as the body.
- It is extremely difficult (without holding the
animal) to tell the difference between the White-footed Mouse and the Deer
Mouse (P. maniculatus).
Habitat: The edges of deciduous
woods, pastures and brushy areas. Will gladly live in human dwellings.
Personality:
- Active during the night
- Very active climbers
Diet: nuts, seed and fruit, but may also eat seeds, insects, and fungi.
