Location: Open fields and prairie.

Season: Mid-summer

Leaves: 2-7" long, lanceolate, occasionally toothed, rough and hairy. Plant height 1-3'.

Flower: 2-3", classic daisy shape.  Yellow with dark brown center.

Comments:  Biennial, forming a rosette of leaves the first year. Flowers the second year. Seeds are tiny.
