Family: Figwort family

Location: Pastures, woods, swamps 

Season: Summer and fall

Flower:  Dark pink to purple, somewhat irregular swollen tube with 5 lips.  When unopened, fist shaped (2nd picture left).  Flowers (0.5-0.75: long) often in pairs over leaves. 

Leaves: Very thin opposite, entire.

Other facts: Up to 1.5' high.
