Family : Nightshade family Location: Moist thickets Season: Spring to fall Flower: Deep purple, 5 regular parts, yellow center, shooting star-shaped, ½ inch wide (lobes pointed backwards), small clusters along stem. Leaves: Vine or scraggly herb with leaves either divided into 3 leaflets or with three deeply cut lobes. Leaves often have round holes in them. Click here for larger images. |
